Our AMBITION programme offers a range of programmes to support young people and adults into employment.
The Work Out! programme provides supported vocational placements to young people in S4-S6 in a range of occupational areas across the council, community planning partners and local businesses.
Activity Agreements provide flexible packages of learning and support, targeted at young people aged 16-19 taking their first steps towards employment and training. The programme engages young people on a range of activities such as confdence building, group work, vocational tasters and one to one support.
The Skills Development Scotland funded programme provides young people aged 16-19 with support to develop work readinesss skills through the provision of employability training and work placements.
South Ayrshire Council supports an ambitious Modern Apprenticeship programme to young people between the ages of 16-19, with around 80 opportunities within the council each year. Occupational areas include Business and Administration, Social Services and Health Care, Construction, Sustainable Resource Management and Amenity Horticulture
Youth Employment Hub
Employability providers in South Ayrshire offer a drop in service on a Monday afternoon from 1.30pm – 3.30pm at the Carrick Opportunities Centre, Henrietta Street, Girvan. The hub offers support to young people who are looking to progress to employment, training and learning.
