Ambition for Town Centres
Town Centre Ambition is South Ayrshire Council’s new retail support programme which has been developed to provide flexible, financial support to assist local town centre retailers at all stages to achieve their ambition to grow.
Whether taking your first steps in the retail sector or developing your business, we have support services available to get you to the next stage.
Our ambition is to increase footfall within our town centres and increase the sale of goods and services outwith the Ayrshire area.
Our ambition is to increase vibrancy and vitality to local town centres within South Ayrshire.
Our ambition is to support growth and create employment.
This is a one off payment not to be used for ongoing maintenance.
Shopfront Improvement Grant
THIS GRANT IS CURRENTLY PAUSED AND NO NEW APPLICATIONS ARE BEING RECEIVED. WE HOPE TO RE-OPEN IT AGAIN SOON.
This grant can be used to improve the appearance of the ground floor frontages of commercial premises, both occupied and vacant. They are available for landlords and tenants, as well as owner occupiers (conditions apply). A maximum grant of £500 can be awarded, at 80% intervention.
Retail Business Development Grant
This grant can be used to support Town Centre retailers which can create significant sustainable economic impact within South Ayrshire. The grant can be used for projects that will demonstrate increase in footfall to the local area, sales outwith Ayrshire and the generation of additional employment opportunities. A maximum grant of £2,000 can be awarded at 50% intervention.
Town Centre Collective Grant
This grant can be used to support the development of co-operative groups which can create enhanced economic impact through collective working within the retail sector. Projects must demonstrate through collaboration, how the group will access new customers and markets, add vibrancy to the area, increase their reach and grow revenues. A maximum grant of £10,000 can be awarded with 50% intervention.
